Very cool. The new expansions that keep coming out look like a lot of fun. I have an entire closet filled with dungeon crawl games thanks to Heroquest, but the only one that comes close is Dungeon Saga Origins. The rest are fun too, but overly complicated IMO. Also, I looks like there's an app...

@aramis erak Good call with Heroquest. For us with parents that were caught up in the Satanic Panic, it was a great affordable alternative ($20!). Funny enough, same reason I played Palladium games too...

Feeling the same way. Think this will be a book I just read for pure enjoyment of the crunch. Author certainly has a grip on on Gary's love for archaic/esoteric rules that are in itself a kind of "spice" for making the game feel mysterious in a way.

I haven't seen any mention of Lamentation of the Flame Princess. I know it gets a lot of hate now, but there's no denying its impact on the OSR, how it set a new bar for adventure writing, proved high quality books were worth doing, and Zak's Art Punk/scrapbook style that's still popular to use...

Too cool. I have those all on my shelf as well. Wish there was more time... Action RPGs are my and my wife's favorite. Grim Dawn being our favoritest! Currently playing Khazan at the moment and stuck on the last boss. If you like hard games, this is certainly one of them.
